Learn the differences between the non-venomous pythons and Australia’s venomous species.

Australia has approximately 160 species of snake of which over 60% are venomous.

MONITORS & OTHER LIZARDS

Lizards found in tropical wetlands include water dragons, skinks and monitors. Some monitors such as the Merten’s Water Monitor have vertically flattened tails that enable them to swim like crocodiles. Water Dragons are shy lizards that can swim, climb trees and dive into the water when frightened.

CROCODILES

Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures takes pride in presenting both estuarine and freshwater crocodiles in their natural habitat while allowing visitors to walk or float amongst them in safety. Various presentations are held throughout the day giving visitors the opportunity to experience and learn more about these prehistoric animals.
