Are you open on public holidays?
We are open every day except Christmas Day and Cairns Ironman due to road closure.
How long should I expect to stay?
On average, most visitors spend 4 hours exploring Hartley’s.
Do I need to pay for parking?
Parking for visitor cars, camper vans, caravans and coaches is free of charge, all day.
Must I buy entry tickets online before travelling?
No. Entry tickets can be purchased on the day by cash or credit card.
Can I book a Premium Wildlife Encounter on arrival?
The Encounters sell out fast. It is essential to pre-book to avoid disappointment.
Do you offer discounts for locals?
Locals living between Tully and Cooktown can request a 20% locals discount at Admissions. The discount is not available for online bookings. Proof of residence is mandatory.
Do you have mobile phone coverage?
We have very limited coverage with Telstra. No mobile service for Optus and Vodaphone customers.
Is Wi-Fi available at Hartley’s?
Limited free Wi-Fi available at the Gallery of Living Art via a satellite service.
Is it easy to book a ride share home?
We strongly recommend you organise return transfer before arriving at Hartley’s to avoid a long wait. Please note your app may not work due to limited or no mobile service.
Can I bring my own food and drink?
Yes. As a courtesy we ask you not to eat in the licenced restaurant leaving space for paying diners.
Can I bring alcohol into the park?
No. Our Liquor Licence prohibits the consumption of alcohol unless purchased at Lilies Restaurant and is subject to House Rules.
Can I smoke or vape in the park?
Only at the designated smoking/vaping locations.
